These small boxes are crafted by Yanase Washi, a handmade washi papermaker in Otaki-cho, a Japanese papermaking village with 1,500 years of history, located in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture. These boxes take their name from moln, the Swedish word for cloud. Using historical and traditional techniques, these boxes are individually crafted from unprocessed washi shaped into warm, soft forms. Embodying the natural warm texture of handmade washi, these quality boxes are durable, light, and functional. Each box is made completely by hand, leaving tiny differences in texture along the edges to highlight the true skills of the master artisan who made it. Elegant in shape and design, these boxes are great for daily use or for gifts to friends.
